Private Studio

Students are introduced to a diversified repertoire, going from standard classical flute repertoire to folklore, while also being taken in consideration the student’s specific interests in a given music genre or composer. Moreover, Crystal stimulates students creativity beyond performance, encouraging them to compose their own etudes and pieces of music, to be played in class regularly.

Lessons are conducted with a serene and adaptable approach; nonetheless a high level of commitment and discipline is expected from the students, who are coached with much attentiveness to their posture, tone, breathing and technique abilities.

Crystal has been a certified Music Teacher for Canada Music Academy for the past 8 years, at Prima Academy for 6 years, she has worked at the Center for Childhood Education at the University of Minas Gerais and also adopts Waldorf techniques of teaching.

Coached and motivated many students from the project “Música para Todos” (Music for Everyone), a program offering impoverished children an opportunity to study music, including group instrument lessons and participation in the school’s youth orchestra.

During my time at CMI, I acted as Woodwinds Coach for CMI Orchestra - Conducted sectionals and tutoring of theory and rhythmic training for the members of the orchestra

Pronatec

This project is an intensive program created by the government to offer free music courses to the community. Beginners and amateurs of all ages had the opportunity to play alongside professional musicians and undergrad students in a Big Band created specifically for educational purposes while also having weekly private instrument lessons and theory. As an instructor, in addition to flute lessons, motivated and assisted the students during the extensive rehearsals and group exercises.
